EMR Year 7 Badminton

Friday 4 August

Four Year 7 students represented LHS in Badminton.  The boys were up against some tough competition!  Didn’t get through to the finals but played their best.  Well done team!

Netball Championships 

Tuesday 8 August

Congratulations to the LHS Junior Netball team for winning their division at the Netball Victoria Schools Championships!

 

Winning all games and defeating Maribyrnong Sports Academy in the final game, our team progressed to the STATE FINALS to be played on Tuesday 5 September. Such an outstanding achievement!

Proud LHS Sporting Achievements 

Congratulations to Tasha Holly and Mr Fyffe for representing Victoria and the School Sport Victoria at the National School State Championships.  Victoria finished 4th!

In August, Georgia Gow (Year 8) represented Lilydale High School and Team Victoria at the 2023 SSA Diving Championship. 

 

During her first experience competing at this level, Georgia finished 10th in the 14yr Springboard event and 9th in the 17-19 yr Platform event. 

 

Congratulations Georgia! We are extremely proud of Georgia’s Diving achievements in 2023.

Hunter Ryan (Year 10) and Archie from Mount Lilydale Mercy College are cousins.

 

They both played in the Team Vic Australian Football 15 Years and Under Boys Navy taking home the gold!  Congratulations boys!

Congratulations to Tia Crossland (Year 7) who represented Team Vic in the AFL 12 Years and Under Girls Team at the Schools Sport Australia Football Championships in Lavington, during August.

 

Tia was also Captain of the Victorian side which is an amazing achievement!  Congratulations and well-done Tia.

Year 7 Table Tennis

Thursday 24 August

Congratulations to our Year 7 Table Tennis teams that competed at Yarra Division.

 

The LHS 1 Boys WON the Boys division, and our LHS 2 Boys finished 2nd overall.  One match separated the two teams!  

 

Our mixed team finished 2nd as well.  

Yarra Group Basketball 

Friday 25 August

Well done to the 58 Year 7 students who competed at Knox stadium in the Yarra Group Basketball.

 

The students played the games in great spirits with plenty of skill and sportsmanship on display.

 

We managed to win all 4 sections on the day, with teams winning both the A and B divisions in the Girls and Boys.

 

Best of luck to the players from the A Boys and Girls teams who will represent the school in the Region finals during Term 4.

Netball Victoria’s School Championships 

Tuesday 5 September

Congratulations to our Junior School Netball team (Years 7/8) on their performance at the state finals day!

 

The students played exceptionally well and had wins against Haileybury, Firbank, Williamstown, Mater Christi and John Paul College.

 

This is the most elite school’s competition and to finish just outside a finals spot is an outstanding achievement!

 

Thank you to all the parents who came to help cheer, Ms Wyatt for her specialist coaching and Shelby and Annalise for scoring.
