Year 9 Metal Design Projects: Cutting-Edge Creativity with Arc Droid!

This term, our Year 9 Technologies students have been diving into the exciting world of 2D metal design using the Arc Droid plasma cutter: a powerful tool that brings digital designs to life with sparks and precision.

Students began their journey by learning the fundamentals of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) using AutoCAD and Inventor. These industry-standard programs allowed them to sketch and refine their ideas digitally, creating detailed 2D profiles of their projects.

Once their designs were complete, students exported their files and prepared them for cutting on the Arc Droid. This CNC plasma cutter uses a high-temperature arc to slice through sheet metal with incredible accuracy, turning digital drawings into real-world creations.

The results? A collection of unique, student-designed metal artworks that showcase both technical skill and creative flair. Well done, Year 9 Materials Metal students.
