NAIDOC Week

As NAIDOC Week officially took place during the July school holidays, we celebrated NAIDOC Week last week at Lumen Christi College when all our students and staff were on campus. This allowed us to come together to honour and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with a variety of meaningful activities.
We kicked off the week with a whole school assembly featuring our First Nations students who have been learning traditional dance in the Cultural Program. They performed in front of students, teachers and guardians alongside Binar Futures dance group.
This year marks a powerful milestone celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC week, honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture and resilience. The 2025 NAIDOC Week theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy”, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but also the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities and the legacy of our ancestors.
