Senior School - Term 3

It has been a busy and productive term for students across the Senior School, with students continuing to demonstrate commitment, resilience and a strong focus on their learning.

Our Year 12 VCE students have reached an important milestone, completing their final School-Assessed Coursework (SACs) and turning their attention towards preparation for the end-of-year VCE examinations. Students are now consolidating their knowledge, refining their examination techniques and developing strategies to approach their final assessments with confidence. In the final week of Term 3, students will complete their trial examinations, providing a valuable opportunity to experience examination conditions, identify areas for further revision and practise managing their time effectively. We wish all of our Year 12 students the very best as they take on this important challenge. We hope the experience will provide valuable feedback and help prepare them for success in their VCE examinations in Term 4.

Our Year 11 VCE students have also had a busy and engaging term, with a range of excursions and learning experiences providing opportunities to connect classroom learning with the real world. These experiences have allowed students to extend their understanding beyond the classroom, apply their knowledge in authentic contexts and develop a deeper appreciation of the relevance of their studies. We are pleased to see students embracing these opportunities and engaging enthusiastically with the learning experiences provided throughout the term.

Students in the VCE VM program have been actively contributing to both the school and wider community throughout the term. Our Year 11 VCE VM students visited FairShare, where they generously volunteered their time to help prepare more than 3,000 portions of food for people experiencing food insecurity. This valuable experience provided students with an opportunity to contribute to the community while developing an understanding of the importance of social responsibility and community participation.

Our Year 12 VCE VM students have also demonstrated outstanding leadership through their involvement in Year 7 Connection Week. In support of R U OK? Day, students designed and led a range of activities aimed at encouraging connection and positive wellbeing among our Year 7 students. They demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and commitment throughout the week, with their activities thoroughly enjoyed by the Year 7 students.

The Year 12 VCE VM students also had the opportunity to showcase the program to prospective families during a school tour on Monday 7 September. Led by Caity M and Eddie M, students shared their personal experiences of the VCE VM program with prospective parents, providing an authentic insight into how the program has supported their post-school pathways. They spoke confidently about the value of their VET studies, highlighting how the practical structure of the program has helped them develop real-world skills, build confidence and prepare for future employment and further study.

These experiences highlight the many opportunities available through the VCE VM program and the valuable contribution our students make to the broader community.

As we approach the end of Term 3, we would like to acknowledge the continued efforts of all Senior School students. Their commitment to their learning, participation in the wider school community and willingness to challenge themselves are important parts of their journey through the Senior School.
