SOUTH GIPPSLAND LANDCARE NETWORK

SGLN - BIOLINKS MAP FOR SOUTH GIPPSLAND

South Gippsland Landcare Network (SGLN) is developing a Biolinks Map for South Gippsland. This is a key action of the Biodiversity Protection Plan. For more details please see www.sgln.net.au/biolinks-map/.

This map will provide us with information on where are the best areas to focus restoration works, to enable wildlife to move across the landscape. We’ll then use that to work with landholders who are interested in being involved.

We are excited to have reached the data collection phase of the project, and are hoping to harness the knowledge of South Gippy locals.

We have developed a Web Map online tool to gather information about the quality of habitat patches, plus fauna and flora that occur in them. This information will support existing data on vegetation, land mapping and fauna records.  Link to webmap

It’s easy to provide information, and the simple instructions are available here (Click here for pdf). Please note information provided in the web map is publicly available. Sensitive information can also be provided privately via this online form.

Please get involved - submissions will be received until June 19th. The more information gathered, the better the outcomes for wildlife in South Gippsland. Every detail and every observation helps.
