Year 12 Final Day House Competition
It was a great send-off for our Year 12s on Tuesday 21 October with the traditional House Competition between the three houses and the basketball game between the Year 12s against the Year 11s to finish the day off.
We were once again blessed with great weather to bid farewell to our Year 12s. As is our tradition at Oxley, the Year 12 Final Day was celebrated with a concert, followed by a day of House competitions in basketball, table tennis and soccer. There was a great carnival atmosphere with the rides close to the stadium. The House Competition started after the students witnessed some great performances from our teachers during the Year 12 concert, that was also attended by our Junior School students.
The Year 7-9 students started the day outside with the soccer competition and allocated time on the rides, while the Year 10-12 students played basketball and table tennis inside. After a short lunch break, the groups swapped over before gathering to watch the Year 11 versus Year 12 basketball match, won by the Year 12s this year 32-17.
The competition between the Houses was the closest we had in years with two Houses finishing in equal second place. White House won the basketball competition, 12 points ahead of the second house. Blue House won the soccer competition, also 12 points ahead of the second house. The final points had two houses in equal second place and one clear winner. The winner of the table tennis competition and the entire day is Blue House. Congratulations!
The results for the day were as follows:

Congratulations to all students who competed for their house and for your outstanding behaviour throughout the day. A big thank you to all the staff and students who assisted with scoring, umpiring and other jobs throughout the day. The combined efforts of everyone made this a most enjoyable and successful day. Lastly, I wish all the Year 12 students God’s blessings as they undertake their examinations in the coming weeks.
