Foundation - Year 2 Recap

It has been an action packed and energetic term in Physical Education for our wonderful Foundation to Year 2 students! Our focus has been on developing locomotor skills, such as running, hopping, and dodging, which help build overall coordination and physical confidence. The students have also loved diving into the basics of Australian Rules Football, practicing their handballs, kicks, and marks with great enthusiasm. Beyond the physical skills, a huge emphasis has been placed on team games, where  our students are learning the true meaning of sportsmanship and fair play. It has been fantastic to see them encouraging their peers, taking turns, and celebrating each other's successes in class. Keep up the amazing effort!

Year 3 and Year 4 Recap

Year 3 and 4 students have been enthusiastically participating in a T-Ball unit over the second half of the term. Through a range of engaging activities and modified games, students have been developing their throwing, catching, batting and fielding skills while continuing to build their teamwork, communication and sportsmanship. It has been fantastic to see students growing in confidence and applying their skills in game situations.

Congratulations also to those Year 4 students who represented our school at the Division Cross Country event this term. They demonstrated great determination and resilience, and should be proud of the way they represented our school!

As the weather cools, and winter moves in, we congratulate all students on their positive attitude and willingness to learn during Physical Education lessons!

Year 5 and Year 6 Recap

Our Year 5 and 6 students have shown incredible dedication and growth in PE this term as they dived deep into their winter sports units, focusing on Australian Rules Football and Netball. For football, the students have been refining their spatial awareness,  kicking, handballing and marking. Over on the netball court, the focus has been on sharp footwork, quick decision-making under pressure, and developing positional roles.

A major component of their learning has revolved around game strategy, team leadership, and sportsmanship. It has been fantastic to see our senior students taking ownership of their teams, officiating fairly, and demonstrating excellent communication and respect both on and off the field. Fantastic work, Year 5 and 6!

Divison Cross country

A massive congratulations to our incredible cross country team who competed at the recent Division Cross Country event! Despite facing incredibly wet and muddy conditions on the track, our students showed amazing resilience, grit, and determination, representing our school with immense pride. Sargun, Keira, Allegra, Amanda, Miguel, Joshua, Azad, and Salome all gave it their absolute best in tough conditions.

In an outstanding achievement, Keira, Allegra, and Amanda all secured top-10 finishes in their respective races! This means they have officially qualified to progress through to the Regional Finals, an amazing effort. We wish them the absolute best of luck at Regionals.

District Sports

What a fantastic day of  teamwork, and school pride at the recent District Sports Day! Our students braved some incredibly tough, cold, and wet conditions, but they didn’t let the weather dampen their spirits, competing with big smiles on their faces all day long. Our teams gave it their absolute best across four different sports: Australian Rules Football, Soccer, Netball, and T-Ball. While we didn't walk away as the overall tournament winners this time, we could not be prouder of how our students carried themselves. They showed exceptional sportsmanship, cheered each other on through the rain, and represented our school values beautifully. Congratulations to all the competitors for a wonderful display of resilience and team spirit!

Have a great long weekend and last few weeks of term,
