It has been an outstanding term for Sunbury College students on the sporting field, with multiple teams excelling across Western Division competitions and advancing to represent the College at the Western Metropolitan Region level.

Year 7 Girls Netball – Western Division Champions

Our Year 7 girls’ netball team proudly claimed the title of Western Division Champions. The team played with exceptional determination, skill, and teamwork throughout the competition. Their commitment to training and supporting one another was evident on the court, and they consistently displayed the College’s values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Endeavour. The girls will now advance to the Western Metropolitan Region Finals in Altona, where they will proudly represent Sunbury College against the top schools in the region.

Junior Girls AFL – Regional Finalists

Congratulations to our Junior Girls AFL team who were also crowned Western Division Champions. The team progressed to the Western Metropolitan Region Finals held in Wyndham Vale, where they competed in three highly competitive matches. The girls won two games and lost one, showing great tenacity, teamwork, and skill. Across all matches, the players upheld outstanding sportsmanship, supporting one another and demonstrating the core values of our College both on and off the field. Their strong performance and positive attitude were a credit to the school.

Senior Boys AFL – Grand Finalists at Regional Level

Our Senior Boys AFL team had a remarkable run through their Western Division competition, ultimately taking out the title and advancing to the Western Metropolitan Region finals. With a determined 7:30am start, the team travelled to represent Sunbury College in Belmont and performed exceptionally well throughout the day. They won all their games leading up to the grand final, where they faced Lakeview Senior College in a hard-fought match. Despite a valiant effort, the boys were narrowly defeated by 14 points. Throughout the competition, they demonstrated outstanding leadership, resilience, and sportsmanship, upholding the values of the College at every stage.
