Spotlight on Digital Technologies Learning: Grades 3-6
Students between grades 3-5 have been exploring hardware, software and coding using Microbits. Throughout this unit students have coded pixel art, music compositions, created interactive games and data loggers.
Grade 6 are exploring gamification through the use of Scratch. Students are creating interactive games for their buddies to enjoy. Students have designed their game with their buddies interests in mind, considered sounds, characters, backgrounds and user experience.
Useful family resources
The eSmart resources produced by the Alannah and Madeline Foundation are excellent for students, teachers and parents. They are curriculum aligned while also being user friendly so all members of the school and broader community can be up to speed with keeping our children safe online. Please see information from eSmart on choosing games for your children.
