Level 4

This term, the Grade 4 students are working with another class to learn about our new cyber safety program. Together, they are exploring how to stay safe online, how to be respectful digital citizens, and what to do if they come across something that makes them feel uncomfortable on the internet. Students are participating in discussions, sharing their ideas, and working collaboratively on activities to build their understanding of responsible and safe technology use.

Writing

Students have been following the writing process as they develop their narratives, moving from planning and drafting to editing, revising, and publishing. Throughout this process, they have focused on improving their paragraphing, choosing more precise and interesting words, and creating sentences that flow smoothly for the reader.

Reading

Students are learning to take effective notes by identifying the most important information and recording it in clear dot points. They then use these notes to organise their thinking and write a clear summary in their own words, focusing on the main ideas and leaving out unnecessary details. This helps students build their understanding of texts while developing their summarising and note-taking skills.

Maths

Students are sharing the different strategies they use to solve addition and subtraction equations. They discuss their thinking with peers, explain their reasoning, and compare methods to see which approaches are most efficient or helpful. This allows them to learn from each other, deepen their understanding of number relationships, and develop flexible problem-solving skills.
