Level 3

Our Level 3 students have made a wonderful start to the year and it is hard to believe how quickly the weeks fly by! We have been very busy settling into new routines and building lovely connections.

Reading

Recently, our reading has seen us explore both fiction and nonfiction texts and discover the ways in which we can draw important information from the text, observing the different features and structures of each.

Writing

Our writing has seen a focus on the structure of narratives as well as the recent introduction to persuasive pieces. It has been a lot of fun looking at the language of persuasive texts as well as the devices writers use to make an argument and share their perspectives.

Maths

Our students have been focused on place value and number facts and have more recently moved into the strategies we use when working with addition and subtraction. 

Inquiry

Our inquiry unit has seen us exploring Celebrations around the world and we have now moved into researching a chosen celebration with the focus on presenting our information towards the end of the term. Students will be asked to present a diorama scene, and we would love some old shoe boxes if you have any at home and are happy to donate them to a good cause!

NAPLAN

This week will see our students engage with NAPLAN.

Monday: Numeracy

Our students have been exposed to the layout and style of the NAPLAN activities, and we have prepared the students so that they can approach the next few days with confidence. You can support your child by letting them know that NAPLAN is a part of their school program and reminding them to simply do their best. 

Key Dates

Friday 20th March: Our Active Travel team will be promoting National Ride to School Day. We encourage students and families to actively travel to school where possible by riding, scooting or walking. Part way is ok!

Monday 30th March: Aim High Assembly

Thursday 2nd April: MAD Easter Parade, Last day of Term 1 - Dismissal 2:30pm
