Shekere Performance

Whole School Incursion – Shekere Performance

On Tuesday 3 March, staff and students were treated to a special performance titled Shekere. The performer, Jonas Tandoh, is a renowned musician who has toured internationally.

The performance was held to celebrate Harmony Week, which takes place from 16 to 21 March. It provided a unique opportunity for students to experience elements of African culture through language, music and dance.

Throughout the performance, staff and students enthusiastically participated by clapping, dancing and singing along. Several students also had the opportunity to play instruments such as the Shekere, xylophone, African drum and shakers.

There was a wonderful sense of excitement and enjoyment throughout the event. It was fantastic to see students so engaged and actively involved.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance and look forward to the possibility of welcoming Jonas back to our school in the future.
