Shrine Excursion

Year 9 Excursion to the Shrine of Remembrance
On Tuesday 10th March, our Year 9 students attended an excursion to the Shrine of Remembrance. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to reflect, learn about Australia’s military history, and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
Students explored the exhibits and memorial spaces while learning about the experiences of Australian soldiers, including those who served during the Gallipoli campaign. The day encouraged thoughtful discussion about the past and the importance of remembrance.
All students are to be commended for their excellent behaviour throughout the excursion. They asked thoughtful and enquiring questions that demonstrated their genuine interest in learning. Students also moved through the Shrine in a quiet and respectful manner, showing great maturity and understanding of the significance of this special place.
Student reflections from the day included:
"I enjoyed learning about the soldiers and looking at the medals." – Emerald
"We found the statue of Simpson and his donkey in the gardens." – Cayden
"The best part was seeing one of the boats like the one they rowed into Gallipoli in the Shrine." – Leathan
It was a meaningful and memorable experience for all involved.
