Free public transport across Victoria

Transport Victoria has announced that public transport will be free across the state from Tuesday 31 March to Thursday 30 April.

This includes Melbourne trains, trams and buses; and regional trains, coaches and buses (including intertown and regional town bus services).

You do not need to tap on, but if you do, you will not be charged.

Free travel is limited to trips solely within Victoria (with an exception for travel to Albury, Mount Gambier and Deniliquin). Airport buses, ferries and privately-run services are excluded.

Myki passes will not be charged during the free travel period and will be extended in the background before paid travel recommences without needing to contact Transport Victoria.
