Year 8 English Excursion 

Year 8s were treated to a special day, seeing the real locations of many of the sites of action in the novel they are studying: ‘Runner’ by Robert Newton.

Engaging in a guided tour by the Melbourne Walking Tour company, each class group was guided separately through a maze of CBD main streets and tiny lane ways, learning about Squizzy Taylor and the lifestyle of different people living in Melbourne during the 1920s. Students were each given a character sheet to read out at different locations and also a list of stops with quotes from the novel.

After our tour, we all enjoyed a delicious, authentic Indonesian lunch.
