MACS Senior Manager Visits

On Tuesday 12th May we were able to host three senior MACS representatives on a walk through of the primary and secondary school. The staff from MACS wanted to focus on how we as a College demonstrate consistent explicit teaching practices across a Foundation to Year 12 setting. They were very complimentary, highlighting the community connection within the classrooms and wider College environment. The MACS staff also recognised the routines and high expectations in classrooms, and the way in which our students were able to talk about what they were learning and why. We look forward to hosting a longer visit in Semester Two.

Senior Exams

Exams for Years 9-11 will take place from Friday 5th – Friday 12th June 2026. Exam timetables and revision booklets have been placed on SIMON daily messages for students to download and utilise.

Our Year 10 and 11 students will be familiar with the expectations of exams, however for our Year 9 students this is a new challenge. Preparing for exams requires organisation and a commitment to revision. In addition to study skills being completed as part of the pastoral program, undertaking additional study out of school time is necessary to consolidate learning completed during school time. Some tips to help include:

  • Creating a revision timetable to complement family, sport and part time work commitments.
  • Using colour coding of notes and mind maps.
  • Having a quiet space to study.
  • Using the help available – always ask your teacher for clarification of a concept.
  • Attend lunchtime and after school support.
  • Taking regular breaks – our brains can only take so much information at a time.
  • Making sure you have the correct equipment – pens, grey lead pencils, eraser, ruler and highlighters.
