The grade 3’s had a wonderful time on our Indigenous Perspectives excursion to CERES.
We were able to clearly link our Inquiry unit “Australia is Our Home.”
The grade 3’s explored Ochre, which is Indigenous Australian paint and we were given special permission to paint symbols on our arms. We also went for a walk and even tasted some plants that Indigenous Australians would use for multiple purposes.
Lastly, we got to act out “Tiddalik the frog” and put on some costumes. We discussed that the story was passed down for many years because it has such a special meaning, to not be greedy and be sustainable!
We are incredibly proud of all the grade 3’s for showing all the Deanside values and representing our school with pride on our excursion!
