Grade 2 students have begun exploring persuasive writing. Students have been learning to identify the key features of persuasive texts, including strong opinions, reasons, emotive language and concluding statements. Through reading examples and class discussions, they are starting to understand how writers convince their audience by presenting clear arguments and supporting evidence. We look forward to using these features to write our own persuasive pieces over the coming weeks!

In Inquiry, our focus has been on sustainability and how our everyday actions can impact the environment. Students have been learning how small choices - such as saving water, recycling and reducing waste - can help protect our planet. As part of this unit, we have investigated the water cycle, exploring each stage in detail including evaporation, condensation and precipitation. Students have enjoyed hands-on activities and visual models to better understand how water continuously moves through our environment.

We are proud of the students’ curiosity and thoughtful discussions as they make meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them.
