In Reading, our Grade 1 students have been learning about textual features and using these to build their inference skills. We have been looking at photographs, illustrations, and key words within texts to help us understand what the author is showing and what might be happening beyond the words on the page. Students have been practising making thoughtful inferences by combining what they see in the images with what they already know.
A reminder that all take-home reader books need to be returned to school by this Friday. No further reader books will be sent home for the remainder of the year
