Principal's Message

Dear Parent and Carers,

Welcome to our final newsletter for Term 3!

It has been a fantastic term filled with outstanding academic, sporting, and arts achievements, providing our students with every opportunity to be their very best.

As you read through this newsletter, you may notice a common theme. Last week, our College community came together to recognise RUOK? Day, with this year's message being "RUOK? Any Day." It was wonderful to see so many students and staff involved in supporting such an important cause. The message serves as a valuable reminder for all of us to check in on those around us. A simple conversation can make a significant difference in someone's life.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank our Wellbeing Team for the outstanding work they do in supporting students across the College. While the holiday period is often a time for rest and enjoyment, it can also be challenging for some. Support remains available, and I encourage anyone who may need assistance to refer to the wellbeing information included in this newsletter.

Tonight marks the beginning of our Parent-Teacher Interviews. We look forward to welcoming students and families to celebrate achievements, discuss progress, and work together to prepare for a successful final term of the year.

While we may be approaching the end of the term, life at the College has certainly not slowed down, with plenty of exciting events taking place right up until the final week.

Last weekend, our College production, Hall of Fame, took centre stage at Boucher Hall, and what an incredible show it was. Performances sold out, and audiences were thoroughly entertained. Congratulations to the cast and crew whose hard work and dedication shone throughout every performance. A special thank you must also go to our staff for commitment and dedication invested in making the production such a success.

Boucher Hall was once again buzzing with energy on Tuesday evening as we hosted our Instrumental Music Spring Gala Concert. It was a wonderful celebration of music that showcased the impressive growth and development of our ensembles. A particular highlight was hearing Year 12 student Cody's beautiful composition "Sun" performed by the Concert Band, along with experiencing the College Orchestra's first performance of the year. Thanks to our amazing Music team lead by Kim Green.

Market Day 2.0, held last week, brought together students from our Year 9 Enterprising People class and Year 11 Business Management students. They collaborated to create and sell a wide range of handmade products and treats, demonstrating impressive creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills.

On the sporting field, our students continue to shine. Following the Gippsland Track and Field Championships, our students achieved outstanding results with several qualifying to compete at the State Finals. We congratulate them on their achievements and wish them every success in the next stage of competition.

The World Cup Soccer competition is also reaching its exciting final stages, with the semi-finals kicking off, pardon the pun, in Week 1 of Term 4.

I’m very proud of the nine Year 9 boys who this week graduated from the Top Blokes program having spent the past two terms exploring important topics such as mental health, leadership, relationships and positive decision-making. We look forward to the Year 7 program due to start next term.

On top of all of this our students have been busy up until the very last moment attending excursions, organising exhibitions, creating in the kitchen and technology rooms and striving to be their best in the classrooms.

They certainly have earned a break. We wish our students and families all the best over the holidays and we look forward to welcoming them back in Term 4.
