It is vital that families are familiar with the Compass Student Management System utilised by BSC, as this is where students and parents find timetables, news items, excursion notices, information and track school learning tasks.

The school asks that parents please take the time to log in to Compass once per week to review any school and class notifications.  

For convenience, we recommend that students and parents download the Compass App - from Google Play or the App Store.

Checking in to Compass will ensure that students and parents are kept up to date with upcoming events and, for example,  complete any Excursion Permissions and/or payments in a timely manner.

A User's Guide to Compass

To help you get the most out of the Compass system, we strongly recommend that parents and carer's take the time to access the User's Guide to Compass.  

This guide will teach you how to use the Compass Parent Portal - how to lodge and approve student absences, view reports, track homework tasks , communicate with your child's teachers, and much more.

This guide is also available via Compass Favourites (see below) so that parents and carers can easily access the tutorial for 'refresher' information throughout the year.

Compass Favourites

Compass Favourites are easily accessed via the Star icon on the Compass Dashboard. Here, you will find links to important sites, including User's Guide to Compass, Curriculum information, the Student/Parent/Carer Handbook, Canteen menu & online ordering , school website, school newsletter and more. This is a quick way to find the information that you need. See the graphic below.

Student/Parent/Carer Handbook

This handbook can be accessed via School Favourites, and detailed information can be found here regarding various student issues - from 'out of uniform' procedures to bicycle storage.  If your specific enquiry is not answered here, please contact your Year Level Coordinator. 

School Calendar

Major school events are advertised on the BSC Website calendar - this includes Twilight Market, Parent Association activities, Student Free days etc.  These are also announced via the Compass Newsfeed,  as are all other events including camps, excursions, celebrations.  These newsfeed items show on Compass Student dashboards and Compass Parent Portals.
