Music for the Masses

Sydney Road Street Party

Demonstrating Brunswick Secondary College's commitment to its local community, approximately thirty Performing Arts students participated in the annual Sydney Road Street Party again this year.

BSC ensembles and bands made every moment on stage matter as they entertained the crowd  on  Sunday - and as always they loved every one of those moments!  Performing to a live audience is 'what it is all about'; students really stretch their musical skills and learn so much form these types of performances. Not only are their musical skills on display, but they also have to overcome 'nerves' and support each other as a team - these are the personal skills that they also develop through the process of performance. And no matter how nervous they are prior to the show, students always find that sharing their passion for music with a willing audience is an exhilarating experience!

Many thanks to staff Marc Matthews and Sophie Dunn who worked hard to ensure that our students had this opportunity, and for the volunteer assistance of other staff, parents and students in staging the show - not to mention the multitudes who came along to cheer them on!

Community Matters

Well done to all the participants who volunteered their time to contribute to this important event that celebrates the diverse and colourful community that we enjoy.

Our local community gives so much to our school, and it is fabulous to give a little back!
