(❁´◡`❁)
Term 1 has been amazing! It has been such a pleasure meeting all the new faces in Foundation and getting to know each child.
We began the term with a relaxed and welcoming start during our Welcome Week, where children created beautiful rainbow artworks to help them feel comfortable and included in their new environment.
We then moved into our Friendship focus, where we supported children to build connections and develop a sense of belonging. Buddy systems were introduced to help children navigate the space and form new friendships.
To celebrate Lunar New Year, we explored different cultures and traditions, and the children enjoyed making and sharing delicious fried rice together.
For World Thinking Day, we engaged in games and puzzles that encouraged teamwork, healthy competition, and critical thinking. This was a fantastic opportunity for children to explore and make the most of our learning resources.
During Clean Up Australia Day, the children took part in caring for their environment by cleaning up our learning areas. The “emu bob” competitions were a big highlight and lots of fun!
Continuing our sustainability focus, Week 6 featured cardboard construction, where children used recycled materials to create imaginative designs. This remains one of the children’s favourite activities, and their creativity has been incredible.
In Week 7, footy returned! The children loved playing their own games, celebrating their favourite teams, and even starting their own live ladder.
We are now looking forward to finishing the term with fun-filled Easter celebrations, wrapping up what has been a truly exciting and successful Term 1.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TERM TWO
week 1 - Earth week
week 2 - Dance and preforming arts
week 3 - Mothers day
We will be continuing to take donation next term -
In honour of Recycling Week/ Clean up Australia day, we have been inspired to expand our sustainability efforts and invite our wonderful families to get involved. We are now accepting donations of cardboard boxes, dress-ups, craft materials, and any clean, reusable items you no longer need. What might seem like trash at home could become our next great creation at OSHC—whether it’s a cubby, a costume, a STEM build, or an inventive art project. We’d love to give your unwanted items a new lease on life and continue encouraging the children to learn about recycling, reusing, and caring for our environment. Thank you for supporting our sustainable play!

STAFFING
Our staffing structure for Semester two is detailed below:
Permanent teaching staff
Coordinator - Lily Hartley
2IC - Oriane Cleary 🤩
Rotating casual educators - Ariella, Daniel and Danyu
Holiday program coordinators- Lily & Oriane
Staffing arrangements often change due to the needs of the service and growing numbers. There will be some new faces, but we understand consistency is important in building connections and creating a strong sense of wellbeing for our children.
Feedback and suggestions
In order to run an effective and personalised program, we rely on community involvement. The easiest way for us to ensure we are catering to the needs of your children and family is through suggestions and feedback. Please don't hesitate to speak to me directly or leave a note in our feedback box with any concerns or ideas for the service. We love hearing anything that can help us exceed.
Sun Smart Policy
☀️🤠☀️
As part of our commitment to keeping all the children safe in the sun, we’d like to remind families about our TheirCare SunSmart Policy. With the warmer weather upon us, it’s essential that all children wear a broad-brimmed hat when playing outside.
To make sure every child is protected, we ask that children bring their own hat each day. If you’d prefer, you can leave a spare hat at TheirCare, clearly labeled with your child’s name, so it’s always ready for outdoor play. We do provide sunscreen but if your child has a sensitivity we do recommend bring their own.
Thank you for helping us keep all the children sun-safe! If you have any questions about our SunSmart policy, feel free to reach out.
Cancelation policy
We have recently experienced an increase in bookings that are not being cancelled when children are absent.
If your child will not be attending, it is very important that you cancel your booking as soon as possible. This can be done easily through the online booking system. Alternatively, you can send us a text message to notify us of your child’s absence.
Please note, if we are not informed of your child’s absence, we are required to follow our missing child procedure. This includes attempting to contact families and, if unsuccessful, may result in further action to ensure the child’s safety.
To avoid a cancellation fee, bookings must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the session.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all children safe and our service running smoothly.
In order to access the OSHC service, families must register prior to booking. During the registration process, you will be asked to provide details such as emergency contacts, medical requirements, dietary needs, etc.
While booking, please remember that last-minute booking can create a hard time for staffing. Please try to book 24 hours in advance, and if needed, call the service for last-minute bookings to ensure space is available.
Enrolment
If you have a child in Foundation or wish to start attending our fantastic program in 2025, you can register at TheirCare now. Booking is not available as of yet, but I will keep you updated. It is always best to book for OSCH as far in advance as possible, to ensure we have the proper staffing ratio needed for the safety of our service.
