 TERM ONE

We would like to give a warm welcome to all of our Foundation students and families for 2026! We are so proud and amazed at how the students have settled into the routines and structures of school life over the past Term. The students have thoroughly enjoyed going to their Specialist classes and have been very busy getting to know each other, their teachers and their school.

The students completed a variety of activities on their very first day of school including decorating and writing their names.

Throughout our InitiaLit lessons over the past several weeks the students have been introduced to several letter characters including the letters m - Maggie Mouse, s - Sammy Seal, t - Tommy Tiger, a - Andy Ant, p - Poppy Princess, i - Iggy Insect, f - Fifi Flamingo and r Rosie Rabbit. With each letter learned, we also learn the Auslan sign for each letter. Ask your child for a demonstration! We have been completing fun and engaging activities all based around these letter sounds. In InitialMaths we have been learning how to count from one number to another, write, represent and read numerals and shapes.

BUDDIES

The Foundation students and their Year Five buddies have been busily getting to know one another. Each week we have our buddy sessions and we begin each session with a catch up, where the buddies get together and have a chance to discuss what they have been doing during the week and what they might be doing over the upcoming weekend. They are then provided an opportunity to share what they discussed with the whole group. They students have been working with their big buddy to complete a ‘Getting to Know you Booklet”. The students love these sessions and look forward to getting together.

WELCOME TO FOUNDATION PICNIC

Unfortunately due to bad weather, our ‘Welcome to Foundation Picnic’ was cancelled. Despite this, we were still able to give away our amazing prize of family tickets to an AFL game of your choice. The lucky winner was Victoria Hughes from FA!

🏳️‍🌈HARMONY CELEBRATION DRESS DAY 🏳️‍🌈

This day represented an opportunity for our students to come to school wearing casual wear, which is reflective of the colours of Harmony Week (orange) and/or the colours of Neurodiversity Week (red, orange, blue, yellow, green, purple).

🏃‍♂️ WHOLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

On Friday 27th March, the Foundation students participated in their very first Cross Country.  We were so impressed with all the effort to dress up in their house colours to support their house for this event.

SPECIALIST TIMETABLE

Term Four Specialist timetable

When students are participating in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) it would be best if they were wearing sneakers or shoes that they can move around in. Please note that this timetable can change! We will keep you updated if this occurs.
