Instrumental Music

Mr Adam Smith

This is a big week in music.  It kicked off on Wednesday, May 28 at the Chamber Ensemble at TSHS with our finest musicians forming small performance groups with the aim of extending their high level skills even further and to perform them at Art Gallery openings and festivals.  The next day on Thursday, May 29 was a long day of rehearsing our tour songs and then competing against Lockyer and Laidley at Battle of the Bands at 5:30pm.

Looking ahead, Monday June 2 to Thursday June 5 is our Western Tour where we visit St George, Mitchell, Roma, Chinchilla and more to workshop with and perform for local schools.  We will be touring with Lockyer and Laidley State High Schools to form a big band performing all kinds of music.  On June 7, our choir is invited to perform their songs at the Toogoolawah Show near the woodchops.

This is a super busy time and I would like to thank Ms Jess Logan from Laidley for organising the Chamber Ensemble, Battle of the Bands and the Western Tour. I'd also like to thank Ms Celeste Graham for all of the liaising and organising at our end.  It is a huge job.  Thank you to all the parents for dealing with all of the forms.  There have been a lot.  All of these events provide an immersion in music which has amazing effects on our musical abilities.  The kids are getting better at music every week.
