Prep Excursion to Melbourne Sea Life
Yesterday, our Prep students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Melbourne Sea Life! The visit was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore and learn about marine life in a hands-on and engaging way.
Throughout the day, students observed a variety of fascinating sea creatures, including colourful tropical fish, graceful stingrays, and several different species of sharks. A definite highlight was the penguin display - the children loved watching them waddle and dive through the water. They were especially amused by one particularly grumpy penguin who was shedding his feathers and feeling a bit itchy!
During the visit, the students learned many interesting facts about ocean animals, with a strong focus on conservation and how we can care for marine creatures and their habitats. The excursion beautifully supported the students’ classroom learning about the positive and negative impacts humans can have on living things and their environments.
Another highlight of the day was a stop at Thomas Street Park, where the students enjoyed lunch and some playtime before heading back to school.
The Prep students returned with big smiles, full of stories and wonderful memories from their day at the Aquarium. It truly was a happy and memorable day of curiosity, learning, and excitement!
