Congratulations to Zac in Year 5. Last week Zac competed at the State Athletics championships in at Lakeside Athletics track in Albert Park. Zac represented BNPS in the 80m Hurdles event after winning the District, Division and Regional lead up events. A great achievement to just get to the State level.

Zac ran his heat in the morning to finish 2nd in his heat and 5th fastest overall to make the final. The final ran late in the afternoon which was a long day for Zac to wait and keep focused on the race. He sat in the call room for an hour before his race was called with just himself and the other 7 runners in his race.

When he finally made it to the start line, his spikes on and his nerves racing he had a mature calmness to him and although he didn’t have block starts like all the other runners, he started the race well and exploded off the start line on the gun.

Unfortunately, halfway through the hurdles he clipped the top of one and this slightly changed his momentum and focus to cross the finish line in 7th place. For Zac his initial reaction was one of disappointment but a few minutes later he had a smile on his face and was proud of his effort and achievement on the day – so he should be!!

The BNPS community is super proud of all your results throughout the Athletics season. Next year maybe you can go one step further and make the podium in this event.

Congratulations ZAC.

Lacrosse Tournament 2025

Last Wednesday myself and 15 students headed down to BSC to compete in the all District schools Lacrosse Tournament. We had a team of 7 boys and 8 girls playing Quik Stix lacrosse which is a 4 sided, fast-moving game requiring excellent skills and good hand eye coordination as well as great teamwork.

Both our boys and girls' teams played all 5 round matches undefeated and both teams made the finals. The boys won against Sandringham in a run away game 9-0 whilst the girls had a tougher match against Beaumaris PS to win in the golden goal play off at the end of the game.

Congratulations to all our players and both teams now go on to compete at the 2025 State Lacrosse Championships in a few weeks. We wish all the players the best of luck.

Girls team- Scarlett Pippa, Liana Tiana Lottie, Baylie, Sienna  & Aeri.

Boys Team- Billy, Jack, Max, Charlie, Griff, Harvey and Liam.
