Junior School Council

The Junior School Council (JSC) comprises 20 representatives – two elected students from each Grade 4 class. We meet every Tuesday morning at 8:15 am with Ms. Barnes and Mr. Martin, and we have been extremely busy this year!

All JSC members attended a special incursion about battery recycling, which launched our school-wide Battery Recycling Program. We are proud to say that battery recycling is still going strong — please continue bringing in your used batteries so we can keep them out of landfills and protect our environment.

Each Wednesday morning at 8:30 am, three JSC members take part in the Wednesday Welcome Crew. This team greets new students and their families, helps them find their classroom, and gives them a tour of key areas such as the playgrounds, toilets and sick bay.

We have also completed a series of school safety videos covering playground safety, walking and running zones, appropriate toilet behaviour, and how to use the pedestrian crossing safely. These videos will be shown at an upcoming assembly — keep an eye out!

Finally, we are currently planning our final whole-school JSC event for the year. Stay tuned for more exciting details soon!
