Secondary News

As we reach the halfway point another busy and rewarding term, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the enthusiasm and commitment shown by our students across a wide range of academic, sporting and co-curricular activities.

Over the past few weeks, our students have proudly represented the College in a variety of interschool sporting events, including netball, soccer and cross country. It has been wonderful to see students out representing the College demonstrating not only skill and determination, but also outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork. Please see the sports articles for the results of these sporting endeavours! As always, I wish to thank the staff who have generously given their time to coach and organise these sporting opportunities for our students.

Our students have also embraced opportunities beyond the sporting field. A number of students recently represented the College in inter-school chess competitions, where they demonstrated impressive strategic thinking, patience and resilience. These experiences continue to highlight the diverse talents within our secondary community.

One of the highlights of the term for our Year 7 students was their recent camp experience to the Summit. This camp provided valuable opportunities for students to develop independence, strengthen friendships and challenge themselves outside the classroom environment. It was pleasing to hear so many positive reports about student participation, behaviour and willingness to get involved in all activities.

Thank you also to the many parents and carers who attended our recent Parent Information Evening focused on supporting students in preparation for Semester Exams. Building strong study habits, organisation and wellbeing routines are all important components of academic success, and we greatly value the partnership between home and school in supporting our young people through these important learning experiences.

As we move towards the second half of term, students are encouraged to remain focused and organised with their learning and family commitments. Semester exams and assessment tasks will approach quickly, and consistent preparation remains the key to success. We encourage all students to seek support from their teachers when needed and to continue striving for their personal best.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for your ongoing support and contribution to the vibrant life of our Secondary School community.
