Year 8 Creative Writing

This term in English, along with essay writing and reading the novel Once, Year 8s enjoyed doing some creative writing based on the Merri-bek Short Story Competition theme, “My Dream Pet”. There were some fantastic stories from Faruq, Maysa, Adam, Benyamine, Irfan, Malak, Fatina, Hala, Abdul, Billy and others which featured baby white tigers, a monkey, unicorns, huskies, dragons and even a Pokemon. Entering the competition was not compulsory but Andrew Mokbel has decided to give it a go. His story, “The Adventure of Pete” is a really quirky and original take on Frankenstein and has a fantastic cliffhanger ending. Great work, Andrew. Good luck with the competition!
