Leadership Report

Dear CPS community,

It has been wonderful this week to hear about the amazing classrooms activities celebrating Harmony Week. Today our students, staff and parents came together to celebrate Harmony Day with our Traditional Dress parade. Our students and staff looked spectacular in their outfits. Thank you all who made the effort to celebrate this important day for our school community and the amazing cultural diversity we represent at CPS. A BIG thank you to Mr Stanisic, Mrs Ozen, Mr Rinan (on music) and Harmony Day committee staff members for making our parade successful and enjoyable for all. Read on in this newsletter about all the wonderful celebrations from our Harmony Day celebrations.

This week our student leaders attended the Dream & Lead Conference at the exhibition convention centre in Melbourne. Over the past 4 years CPS student leaders have been participating with this highly engaging one-day event. The day offers our young leaders an opportunity to discover their leadership potential, providing them with strong foundations to succeed as leaders. Our student leaders participated in purposeful activities developing their problem-solving skills, and increasing confidence and independence. Facilitated by internationally trained young leaders, students gained knowledge and experience on how to recognise the impact they can create as a young person.

All ticket stubs and money to be handed to the classroom teacher or office before Thursday 2nd April. Extra tickets can be purchased from our office.

Finally,

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) has concluded for our Grade 3 & Grade 5 students. We have catch up sessions for those students who may have been absent. To all the students who took part, well done!  NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process at CPS and does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance.

A reminder Photo Day next Thursday 26th March.

Have a restful and enjoyable weekend!
