Loreto Students Shine at Lions Youth of the Year

Our Loreto students continue to excel in the Lions Youth of the Year program (Alfredton - Lucas), with three outstanding representatives; Charlotte - Year 10, Mia - Year 12 and Mahima - Year 12, taking part in the competition on Saturday 21 February.

The students completed extensive written submissions, presented themselves with confidence and sincerity during a rigorous 45‑minute interview, and delivered two impromptu speeches along with a prepared five‑minute address. Their professionalism and poise were evident throughout the day.

Adjudicators offered glowing feedback, noting that “the three girls’ speeches were heartfelt, conviction‑filled, and demonstrated their abilities to think quickly on their feet. Throughout our interactions we were impressed with the passion and commitment each brought, but within was a deep and clear humility and desire to do well within the world. Truly a lovely sentiment and value where today we seem to witness ever‑decreasing empathy and kindness.”

After careful deliberation, the judges awarded Best Speaker and Overall Winner to Mahima.
