Grade 6 News

Welcome to our final week of term 2!

A highlight of the term was the recent Winter Sports Carnival, where a mixed team of Grade 5 and 6 students proudly represented our school in football, soccer, netball and T-ball. All students displayed excellent sportsmanship, teamwork and determination throughout the day, and we were incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves both on and off the field.

Congratulations to our football team, who were crowned Carnival Champions after an outstanding performance across the day. A special mention also goes to our T-ball team, who finished second overall in a fantastic effort. Well done to all students who participated and represented our school with pride.

As we head into the winter holidays, we wish all families a safe, happy and restful break. While enjoying some well-earned time away from school, we encourage students to continue their reading routine by reading aloud to a parent or family member each day.

Reading aloud helps to build fluency by improving accuracy, pace and expression. It also strengthens confidence, comprehension and vocabulary development. Even 10–15 minutes of reading each day can make a significant difference and help students return to school ready for a successful Term 3.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term refreshed and ready for another exciting semester of learning.
