Level 3

Our students have made a wonderful start to Term 3 and have been enjoying our time reconnecting after the break.
This term is action packed and we have started strongly!
Our Writing has focused on explanation texts, in particular we have been looking at the structure and language features, and comparing them to those found in narrative, information reports and procedural texts. Our students are enjoying researching topics of interest and then sharing an explanation about how and why things work the way they do. We look forward to sharing our finishing pieces over the next few weeks.
In Maths, we are revisiting multiplication and the many strategies involved. Our focus has been on fact families, partitioning and worded problems as well as the automatic recall facts of our timetables. Any extra practice at home working with the timetables facts would be a great help!
In Reading we are all enjoying a new class novel and working together to build understanding of themes, character traits and authors purpose along with a strong focus on blending our Inquiry unit into all our reading work.
Our Inquiry focus this term is on our Near Neighbours and all students have selected a country to study. We are looking at transportation, education, currency, indigenous culture, natural disasters, and food culture within our chosen country.
Many of our students are looking forward to Hoop-time basketball next Wednesday and it would be great if you can join us for an hour or two to cheer on our students.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
