Earlier this term, our Year 12 English Advanced students attended The Tempest/Hag-Seed Symposium at Riverside Theatres in Parramatta, where they explored key scenes, characters, and themes from Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Through live performances, expert analysis, and interactive discussions, students deepened their understanding and connection to their studies in class. The excursion provided valuable insights that will support students in their HSC studies and analytical writing.

This term, Year 7 students explored the concept of heroism by investigating the qualities that make an ordinary person extraordinary. After studying a range of inspiring Australians, students created colourful posters showcasing their understanding of what it means to be a hero. Their work highlighted qualities such as courage, determination, compassion, resilience, teamwork and selflessness, drawing connections to real-world figures including athletes, conservationists, emergency service workers and healthcare professionals. The activity encouraged students to reflect on the positive impact that everyday acts of kindness, bravery and perseverance can have on others, while also demonstrating their creativity and growing understanding of the values that shape true heroes.
