Year 12 Major Projects Industrial Technology Timber 

The above completion dates may seem far away, but they will be fast upon us, so it is very important that students be working on both PROJECT and PORTFOLIO consistently between now and then. As a guide, students are expected to work at least one hour a week on the portfolio.  

 

Shoes 

All students require fully covered black leather shoes to participate in the kitchens and workshops for Work Health and Safety requirements. Students in incorrect footwear are unable to participate and will be set alternate theory work in another supervised class 

Showcasing the work of Year 9 

Food Technology 

For Food Trends - Instagram Worthy Freak Shake Practical Assessment Task, students designed, created and photographed a FREAK SHAKE using their chosen ingredients. When creating this shake, students were required toemploy a range of utensils, equipment and techniques.   

Timber 

Our Year 9 Industrial Technology Timber students have recently completed their spice rack projects. Throughout this project, students developed and refined a range of woodworking skills, including accurate marking out, measuring, cutting, sanding, assembly, and finishing techniques. They also gained valuable experience using a variety of timber joinery methods and workshop machinery safely and effectively. Students should be proud of the high-quality projects they have produced 

They are now beginning their second project for the year, a Lolly dispenser. This exciting project will further challenge students' design, construction, and problem-solving skills as they create a functional product incorporating moving components. 

Year 9 Child Studies  

In year 9 Child Studies students have been developing their creativity and practical skills through the design and construction of a children’s soft toy. Throughout this project students have explored the principles of design, including planning, creating patterns, selecting suitable fabrics and applying sewing techniques to produce a safe and engaging toy for young children.  

Students have been building their confidence in hand-sewing skills, fabric manipulation and problems solving while considering the needs and interests of children in early childhood settings. The project encourages students to explore the importance of play, investigating how soft toys support imagination, comfort, social development and learning through play.  

Camden Cafe  

In week 6 during the Camden vs Cowra exchange, Year 12 Hospitality students ran a cafe service period for staff and parents. 

Students and TAS Staff prepared and served a variety of food and beverage items made to industry standards.  

Our Most Valuable Players in the Cafe included Edward & Dylan from Year 12 and Jacob & Noah from Year 8. 

All participating students had a great time and enjoyed the experiences that this opportunity provided.  

Year 10 Food Technology 

In Week 8 Mrs. Stipanovic and Year 10 students supported the Oakdale Art Showcase by preparing a variety of baked goods for the Oakdale Primary School. The presentation of the items was outstanding. A big thank you to Bree, Eliza, Andy, Addison, and Shelley for their efforts. They are our MVP’s this week.
