Camden / Cowra Billeting: A parents perspective
Dear Camden High School Staff,
I would like to share my experience of participating in the Camden vs Cowra exchange program as a host family.
Before taking on a billet, I was quite nervous about the responsibility and unsure of what to expect. However, those concerns quickly disappeared once Lachlan arrived. He was an amazing, well-mannered young man who was respectful, polite, and a pleasure to have in our home.
Throughout his stay, Lachlan represented himself, his family, and his school exceptionally well. He was considerate, easy to get along with, and made the experience enjoyable for everyone involved.
Hosting Lachlan has given me a very positive view of the exchange program. What initially felt a little daunting turned out to be a rewarding and memorable experience. I would not hesitate to take on a billet again in the future and would encourage others to consider doing the same.
Thank you for continuing such a valuable program.
Camden High P&C June 2026 Update
The June Camden P&C meeting was held on Tuesday 16 June in the school library. Marianne Heath presented to the group on the Support Faculty. Attendees found the presentation incredibly helpful and informative. These brief presentations continue to be a valued feature of P&C meetings, and we encourage members of the school community to attend future meetings to hear firsthand about the many programs and initiatives taking place across the school.
The P&C will be running a cookie dough fundraiser in Term 3, to help raise funds for school resources. Please keep an eye out for this in the school’s socials. The Term 1 McDonalds fundraiser raised a welcome $280 for the P&C. A huge thank you to those who were able to support the night or contribute through donations.
It would be great to see new faces at the meetings and help add extra voices to the conversations families have with the school.
Can’t attend but have something to say?
