The Interhouse Swimming Carnival was a massive success for Lincoln, earning us second place in the Swimming, Sync Swim and Spirit Shield. This success has led to us currently holding second place in the House Cup, very close behind Gandhi.
The Sync-Swim came together beautifully and, while we didn’t take home the win, as Head of House I was so proud to see the House come alive, embodying the Lincoln House spirit as we did our final practice and then as we performed our hearts out in the water.
I would like to thank all the Lincoln students who participated in races and events. Congratulations to Kareena Brien, Connor Detiuk, Olivia Lienert and Joss Walker for achieving Runner-up Champion and to Ameesha Brien for achieving Champion Girl in their respective year groups.
As we look towards our next school sporting event, the cross country, I encourage all of Lincoln House to participate and join the race. Each participant adds towards our total point score, so get your running shoes and as Scar said to baby Simba: Be prepared!

What a fantastic two weeks it has been in Mandela.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to our students and staff for taking the win for the SyncSwim Challenge, retaining our crown from last year. All the hard work paid off, it looked amazing. A special thank you to Wil our House Captain, and the Year 11 girls who choreographed and organised the whole House for many weeks to lead us to victory. Not only that, but a huge congratulations to all of Mandela for winning the inaugural Spirit Shield. This was a shield awarded to the House with high participation, entry and wins in the novelty events, dress ups, supporting others and House Spirit. We are incredibly proud of this, because although we did not win the Swim Carnival overall we won two events and had our highest participation as a House. There is not much more we could ask for and myself and the teachers are incredibly proud of Mandela Students. Keep it up Team. Well done to Gandhi and Lincoln for the great competition, it was a lot of fun!
The Year 7s had their first camp, and again what can I say but well done to all Year 7s in all Houses. It was a fun, jam-packed three days and the students were phenomenal.
Week 7 is our House Week events - so keep an eye out for sign-ups and I look forward to seeing Mandela shine on.
