Summer Carnivals Ahead

As we find ourselves already over halfway through Term One, it is evident that our Year 9 and 10 students have seamlessly settled into the rhythm of school life here at St George's. Their commitment to punctuality and preparedness, ensuring they attend classes promptly and equipped with all necessary materials is commendable.

The recent Interhouse Swimming Carnival showcased the remarkable sportsmanship and impressive swimming prowess of many of our Year 9s and 10s. Congratulations to those who received awards, and a special acknowledgment to all participants for their spirited involvement on the day.

A gentle reminder to our students: it is essential to utilise your lockers properly. It has come to our attention that a significant number of Year 9 & 10 students have lockers without locks. I kindly request that students ensure their lockers are secured with locks. For those who have misplaced their locks, please inquire at the reception about obtaining a new one. All students must have locks on their lockers by Tuesday 5 March otherwise a new lock will need to be purchased through front reception and charged to student accounts.

Looking ahead to Week 8 of this term, we have the One Day NWAS Summer Carnivals scheduled. This presents an exciting opportunity for students to represent the school in a variety of sports, including Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, and Ultimate Frisbee. Interested students are encouraged to seek further information from their PE teachers regarding registration. I encourage you all to get involved.

As we approach the upcoming long weekend, I extend my warm wishes to all our St George's families for an enjoyable break. Upon return on March 5, our Year 10s will have the pleasure of welcoming new exchange students from Wangaratta, Victoria, who will be joining us for the remainder of the term. We are excited to be welcoming them to the St George’s Family in our inaugural exchange program.

Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend.
