World's Greatest Shave

Mr Thompson

I am excited to announce that the World’s Greatest Shave event is, once again, taking place here at St George’s - on Friday 15 March

Can I encourage all members of the school community to get involved in supporting this worthy cause. The World’s Greatest Shave is designed to help raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, and its work is to support those battling blood cancer.

Every year thousands of Australians shave their heads (sadly not me!) to raise money.

This event is a wonderful show of support and solidarity with those that are facing such challenging times. Most of all, it proves that we can all make a difference to the lives of others.

By getting involved we offer a helping hand to families facing physical, emotional and financial challenges but more importantly we let them know that they are not alone and that we as a school care about them.

At St George’s we encourage all students, and their families, to get involved on the day.

This can be done by registering to shave your head or cut your hair, by donating, or by taking part in our very own Crazy Hair Day by wearing a wig or putting your hair in a ‘crazy’ style and bringing a gold coin donation to school with you for the day. Collection tins will be at the front of school and in PCG.

I am sure this will be another example of the St George’s community coming together to support those in need and for one cannot wait to see the Greatest Shave St George’s style take place. Please use the link below to support Team St George’s – every little counts and I greatly appreciate your support as do our 2024 Student Leaders who are aspiring to make this year’s Greatest Shave the best yet. Let’s beat last year’s incredible result of more than $10,000!

Calling parent hairdressers! Are you able to assist us on the day?

We would love to have you onboard!  Get in touch by email: events@stgeorges.wa.edu.au.

Year 7 Camp

I have just returned from my first Year 7 camp. I want to say how impressed I have been with our Year 7 cohort. The staff and the instructors were extremely pleased with the way the students conducted themselves over the three days and lots of adventure and new friendships seemed to evolve over the course of the camp.

Special mention to Head of Year 7 & 8 Ms Taryn Sephton who spent weeks planning such a successful camp – well done Ms Sephton and thank you.
