After our recent news story about our stolen chickens was broadcast, we were incredibly touched by the response from the community. One message in particular came all the way from Bendigo, where an amazing country organisation, 1000 Paddocks, reached out to offer their support.
Thankfully, our chickens were safely returned, but we still wanted to take the time to recognise this generous group and share the wonderful work they do.
1000 Paddocks is a community-focused initiative dedicated to supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of people living in rural Australia. Through their βLetβs Get Ruralβ project, they raise funds and travel to small country towns to host community nights filled with laughter, entertainment, and connection. Their goal is simple but powerful: to strengthen rural communities, boost morale, and remind people in smaller towns that they are not forgotten.
They operate on a βpay it forwardβ model, where small donations help fund events and outreach that bring people together and support local businesses such as country pubsβoften the social heart of rural communities.
When they heard about what had happened at our school, they kindly offered to donate chickens to help replace what had been taken and to support our students and their learning. This gesture meant so much to usβespecially knowing it came from people who had only heard our story through the news.
What began as a very sad and upsetting situation for our school community turned into a reminder of just how kind and connected people across Australia can be. From having our chickens returned, to hearing from a generous organisation in Bendigo offering their help, this has truly been a story of resilience, community spirit, and mates helping mates.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to 1000 Paddocks for reaching out and for the important work they continue to do supporting rural communities across the country.

Le Page Primary School will once again be supporting the ANZAC Appeal in the lead-up to ANZAC Day on Saturday 25, Β April 2026. From now until ANZAC Day, students will be able to purchase commemorative items such as badges, pens and bracelets. These will be available from the school office, and our School Leaders will also be visiting classrooms to give students the opportunity to participate.
The ANZAC Appeal is an important way for our school community to honour and remember the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand soldiers who served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping missions. Funds raised help support veterans and their families through vital services and programs. By taking part, students learn the importance of remembrance, respect and gratitude for those who have served our country.
We will also be holding our ANZAC Assembly on Friday 24 April 2026, where students and staff will come together to reflect and pay their respects.
Lest we forget. πΊ

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. It is part of making Victoria the Education State and the Governmentβs commitment to breaking the link between a studentβs financial circumstances and their outcomes.
School camps provideΒ children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors. Excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works while sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are a part of a healthy curriculum.
CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school excursions, camps and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card orΒ Β support an out of home care student you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid directly to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
Β
The annual CSEF amount per student is $400 for all school students.

Can we kindly ask all parents to please come through the front office if your child is late to school. Students must present to the office with a parent to be signed in via the Compass Kiosk to receive a late pass to give to their teacher.
Sometimes students need to be picked up early for an appointment. Students who need to be dismissed early must be picked up from the office. We will call down to your child's class and call them to the office to be signed out.Β
