Term 1 Reflection
As we come to the end of a wonderful Term 1, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the many achievements, experiences and moments of growth that have defined the start of our 2026 school year.
It has been a highly positive and productive term at Le Page Primary School. From the very first day, our students have demonstrated enthusiasm for learning, a commitment to personal excellence, and a strong sense of community. It has been particularly pleasing to see our students embracing The Leader in Me framework, setting goals, demonstrating initiative, and supporting one another both inside and outside the classroom.
Across the school, teaching and learning has been purposeful and engaging. Our staff have continued to build on our strong curriculum foundations, ensuring that every student is supported, challenged and extended. The focus on Literacy and Numeracy, alongside rich inquiry learning experiences, has enabled students to make a confident start to their academic journeys this year.
Our wellbeing programs have also continued to play a vital role. Through Respectful Relationships, Zones of Regulation, and GEM (Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness), students have been developing important life skills that support both their learning and their relationships. It has been wonderful to see students demonstrating empathy, resilience and responsibility in their daily interactions.
A highlight of the term has been the strong sense of student voice and leadership. Our Student Lighthouse Team has already begun contributing ideas and helping shape school initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to empowering students as leaders.
We extend our heartfelt thoughts and best wishes to the Young family as they navigate Georgia’s ongoing treatment. Our community stands with them during this time.
A sincere thank you to our dedicated Social and Fundraising Team and Miss Anna for their ongoing efforts in organising events such as the Readathon. Their work has successfully raised funds that will go towards the purchase of two outdoor tables and modern bench seating, further enhancing our learning and play spaces.
Students were thrilled this week to meet members of the St Kilda Football Club during their visit. It was an exciting experience and a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with elite athletes.
We also acknowledge the fantastic bike ride organised by our dads, which brought great enjoyment to all involved. It was wonderful to see such strong community engagement and shared fun.
We are pleased to share that more than 40 families have already toured Le Page Primary School as a prospective option for enrolment in 2027. This is a record for this time of year and reflects a significant increase in community interest, particularly in our strong cultural focus on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and our social and emotional development framework.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff and the ongoing support of our families. The partnership between home and school is a cornerstone of our success, and we thank you for your continued engagement and trust.
We also wish Nick Duckett and his wife all the very best as he takes family leave for the birth of their second child. We hope this is a special and joyful time for his family.
As we head into the holiday break, I encourage all families to take the time to rest, recharge and enjoy quality time together. Holidays provide an important opportunity for students to reflect, reset and return ready for another exciting term of learning.
On behalf of all the staff at Le Page Primary School, I wish you a safe, happy and relaxing holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2, refreshed and ready for continued growth and success.
