Canberra 2025 Highlights
We kicked off our annual Symphonic Band Tour 2025 with a cracking start in Canberra, packed with incredible musical experiences! First up was a workshop with the Royal Military College Band (temporarily out of Duntroon due to renovations), where their expertise and guidance were invaluable.
Our students brought energy and skill to performances at Hawker Primary School, the National Botanic Gardens (where we even made some reptilian friends 🐊), and the Canberra City Walk precinct, delighting shoppers and visitors alike. Along the way, we explored the Australian Institute of Sport, the National Zoo, and Questacon, making for an action-packed week full of music, learning, and fun.
The highlight of the tour came on our final day: a performance by our Symphonic Band in the Great Hall at Parliament House! We were honoured to be joined by our Federal Member for Indi, Helen Haines MP, and the Federal Minister for Education, Jason Clare. Members of the public, parents, and friends of the school also attended, and everyone was thoroughly impressed by our students’ talent and professionalism.
It was wonderful to see students grow as performers, share their music with diverse audiences, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge congratulations to all our Symphonic and Stage band students for their dedication, energy, and outstanding performances throughout the tour!
