The Prefect Report

As the Wangaratta High School Head Prefects for 2026, my name is Alec Armstrong. I have been at the school since Year 8, and I am keen to contribute to our school community and help foster the next generation of student leaders. I am a keen cyclist and ski instructor, and I look forward to working alongside Pieper Gottschling and Harry Hildebrand with the Prefect team.

My name is Pieper Gottschling, and I'm honoured to be a head prefect for 2026 alongside Alec. I am excited to use my knowledge and leadership skills, as well as develop and grow them, next year bringing ideas to life, with the intentions of better the schools culture and community. I have been attending Wangaratta High School since year 7, I love playing netball, being outdoors and hanging out with friends and family. I'm intrigued to see what the coming year brings, while working with such great people such as Alec and Harry.

We are excited to welcome our new Year 11's Prefects. With the new council system, we look forward to seeing more students across year levels being able to get involved in organising events and bringing fresh ideas to the school. We also want to thank Harry for his support with the team this year.

We would like to acknowledge Alison and Swaye for their leadership throughout this year. You have made a significant contribution to the school while managing your Year 12 studies, and it is an honour to step into this role after you. Your work on the swimming carnival, talent quest, athletics carnival, Discovery Day and fundraisers has set a strong example for us.

Next year, we hope to complete several projects, including redoing the ANZAC garden located at the front of the school, with an ANZAC theme to honour past students, and holding, as well as taking part in, the Greatest Shave to raise money for people with leukaemia.

We look forward to representing the Wangaratta High School student body in 2026.
