Assistant Principal's Report

     Teaching and Learning

Mrs Rose Thomson

As we reach the end of another school year, it has been wonderful to see students across the College finishing the term with focus and purpose.

In this final term, students in Years 10 and 11 completed their school-based Semester Examinations. This process has supported students to reflect on their learning, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and set goals for next year.

Year 10 and 11 students also undertook the Early Commencement Program, beginning studies as Year 11 and 12 students for 2026. This program allows students to build confidence and familiarity with Unit 1 and 3 studies ahead of the new year. VCE teachers provided subject overviews, completed introductory learning tasks and issued holiday homework, which will be due at the start of Term One.

We continue to use Edrolo for several subjects. Information has been distributed to families regarding payment of subject subscriptions. Edrolo remains a valuable resource in supporting independent study, revision and SAC and exam preparation.

Our Years 7–9 students completed their final assessments and participated in a Step-Up Program, giving them valuable insight into learning expectations for next year. It was pleasing to see students engaged across all sessions, including a student forum, where they gave feedback on our teaching practices so that we can review and improve our teaching and learning programs and strategies from the start of the new year.

Semester Reports were released on Tuesday 16th of December. Families will have received a Compass notification once reports became available to be viewed and downloaded. Compass Learning Tasks can also be accessed, to allow students and parents to review work completion and access rubrics and teacher feedback across each subject.

If you have any feedback on our teaching and learning programs, assessment and reporting processes, please do get in touch. We continually strive to improve and want to ensure we can set up every student for success.

Thank you to you all for your continued support of our students and staff at Greensborough College throughout the year. We value the strong partnership between home and school that our College continues to thrive on.

Wishing you all a safe, restful and enjoyable festive season.
