A word from our Learning Areas Cont.

Another year comes to a close in Humanities!
A big congratulations to our Year 12 students across Humanities for the dedication to their studies and their achievement in their subjects. Thank you to the teachers of our Year 12 VCE Humanities team for your hard work throughout the year preparing students and keeping them motivated: Lisa Dunne & Kathleen Fogarty (Business & Economics), Paul Rycroft (History), and uh, me (Legal Studies).
This year brings my tenure as Humanities head to a close. Next year, Allira Wilson will be taking the reigns as Humanities Learning Area Leader. I wish her all the best as she fosters a sense of passion, discovery, and curiosity in our Humanities students.
To all the students of Greensborough College, enjoy your break!

The 2025 school year was a fantastic one for the Italian language program, highlighted by the successful introduction of the new Year 9 Food Technology subject, La Cucina, which allowed students to explore Italian culture through hands-on cooking. A major step forward was the adoption of Gianfranco Conti's EPI method across all classes, a structured and communicative approach that significantly boosted student engagement, confidence, and fluency. Looking ahead to 2026, the program is positioned for an even brighter year with a whole new languages teaching team who are eager and excited to hit the ground running.

Congratulations to all students on a fantastic year in science, especially our fabulous Year 12 cohort who worked hard all year refining their science knowledge and investigative techniques.
A big thanks to all the science teachers on another great year of delivering engaging lessons and organising countless experiments – and Amany who had to organise all the materials for them.
And a shoutout to Jules who will be looking after the spiney leaf and stick insects over the summer holidays.
See you all in 2026!

Throughout 2025 Year 11 & 12 VCE VM Personal Development Skills students participated in a series of mentor-a-buddy tasks with Streeton Primary School. In Term 3, Year 12 students ran short fitness games with grade 3s during their PE class. The activities gave the primary school students the chance to develop teamwork and collaboration skills. “It was exciting and have the chance to coach the next generation”- Locha Crowley. “I was initially scared of the kids, but I really enjoyed it by the end.”- Kailtyn Dearing “It brought back memories from when I was in primary school, I really enjoyed being with the little kids.”- Emma McQueen.
Year 12 VCE VM students finished their year with a bang by delivering a highly engaging and entertaining ‘Tasty Bites Campaign’ to the year 7s. The objective of the assessment was to deliver both educational and promotional content to the Year 7s linked to cultural food customs and general dietary requirements found in workplaces. A strong emphasis was placed on teamwork and public speaking as students had to work in teams to develop recipe cards, recipes, portion estimates, fun facts about food, culture and customs as well as promotional films and campaign PowerPoints.
A HUGE thank you to the all the VM students and staff for an outstanding year of achievement. Congratulations to the VM award recipients who attended the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony and received awards for Excellence in Numeracy (Cooper Comfort); Literacy (Kaitlyn Dearing); Food Tech (Kaitlyn Dearing); WRS (Kristy Nagy) and PDS (Kaitlyn Dearing).
Welcome to Aidan Clarke as VCE VM Curriculum Leader in 2026.
