Do you collect anything?

Yes, books! I hoard books. I have a library at home. I think I have five copies of Pride and Prejudice.

Do you play a musical instrument? If so, which one?

No, but fun fact: I was the lead singer in an emo band in high school.

How long have you worked at BSC?

I have worked at Beauy since the second year it opened, so since 2019.

If you could choose to be anything for a day, what would it be?

I’d want to be an F1 car because I think I’d be a really good driver, and then I can go fast, FAST!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I’d say rice, because you can even have dessert rice! (I love Mango sticky rice.)

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

The ability to fly, because then I would not be affected by petrol costs and I could travel anywhere I want. I also hate flying in planes, which is why I only fly business class now.

What book/TV series/podcasts are you into at the moment?

I've started watching The Pitt, and it’s really good.

What is your favourite music?

My number one Spotify artist is Doechii, followed closely by Kendrick Lamar. But of course, there’s some pop-punk emo in there too.

What were you like as a student?

I was school captain, which is probably no surprise there! I also got in trouble a lot for talking. I did well at school, a bit of a nerd, but I had friends. I also met my husband in high school (Year 11).

What would you sing at karaoke night?

My head knows I would smash Man I Need by Olivia Dean, but my heart is saying I'm Every Woman by Chaka Khan.

When you were little, what did you aspire to be?

A forensic scientist, an Egyptologist, and then I wanted to work in fashion!

Why did you choose to go into teaching?

I did a business degree first, but then I changed to teaching when I realised I wanted to add more value to the world instead of selling other people’s stuff. I want to leave the world a better place than when I found it.

Thanks, Ms Hamlett!
