This term has been an extremely busy time for our students with many of them working through summative assessment tasks and examination blocks. I have been very impressed with how seriously and studiously our students have approached these tasks. For our students in the Middle Schools these organisational and study skills provide an important foundation for the Senior School where they have large examination blocks in Years 10, 11 and 12. Teachers are now giving important feedback to student regarding their performance and areas for improvement.

Year 12 Formal

It was lovely to see our Year 12 students relaxed and enjoying their formal at Curzon Hall on Wednesday 13th December. We will have a final catch up with Year 12 the day their HSC results are released with a breakfast BBQ on Thursday 18th December.

Social Media Age Restrictions

There has been much discussion around the upcoming social media restrictions. From 10 December 2025, many social media platforms will be required to prevent Australians under 16 from creating or maintaining accounts on certain age-restricted services. The changes aim to protect children from pressures and risks they can be exposed to while logged in to social media accounts.

The eSafety Commissioner is leading the implementation of the law. They are responsible for identifying platforms and supporting the community with information and resources.

Under-16s will still be able to see publicly available social media content that doesn’t require logging into an account. There are no penalties for young people who use age-restricted platforms or for their parents and carers as the responsibility is with the platforms.

We encourage you to access eSafety’s resources and support for families on their website and register for one of the upcoming webinars External link for parents and carers.
