Deputy Principal
Year 9 and 12
By the time you read the boys will have completed their Yearly exams. Feedback session is an integral part of the learning process. Students need to understand where and why they performed well. And they also need understand what is required to perform at a higher level:
How do I more accurately interpret the graph?
How do I write with more precision and depth?
How do I integrate more subject specific vocabulary?
How do I incorporate the stimulus into my response?
All of the above will be a focus of Year 10 learning.
So, while the exams are over let’s still try and get something out of the lessons. Let’s show the same levels of respect for each other in and out of the classroom. Let’s do the simple things well – correct school uniform, on time for school and lessons, and bring the correct schoolbooks and pencil case.
The Summer Cup Futsal tournament has been a success and will run till the end of the year. A big thank you to Mr Bailey for such a well-run comp. Let’s get the most out of our day at school. It’s not just about the classroom – join a team, have fun with your mates and PARTICIPATE.
I encourage all the boys to use the long summer days and stay active after school. Ride a bike, swim, play golf, tennis. Go fishing. Get off your mobile phones and MOVE!
I also encourage the boys to get a part time job. The social interaction – meeting different people – learning the value of customer service. And a little money in the pocket will help to finance the holidays.
