Head of Year 11 & 12 News
Mrs Rebecca Lovelock

What a start to the year it has been, and we are well and truly in senior mode already.
The much-anticipated senior jerseys/tops have landed and were distributed to students this week. There is always a great buzz on the day they arrive and this year was no different. Even in the warmer weather, plenty of students are proudly wearing them already, and they look fantastic.

The Year 12 formal has now been locked in and will be held at The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast. The students were keen for a beautiful waterfront venue, and this certainly ticks the box. The formal will be held on Friday the 20th of November. As always, attendance at the formal is a privilege and students must meet the formal criteria (attendance, behaviour level, uniform expectations and no outstanding assessment, fees or resources). Please keep this in mind as the year progresses.
Our Year 12 Easter Raffle is in full swing! Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. If anyone is interested in buying tickets you can see any of the Year 12s, and they will also be selling during lunch breaks. A huge thank you to our local businesses who have generously donated prizes (Toogoolawah Advantage Pharmacy, Esk IGA, Brisbane Valley Rosters, Toogoolawah Pictures) and are supporting our seniors by selling tickets. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support of our school community. We also acknowledge and thank those businesses who are still in the process of organising donations, your support does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
All funds raised will go towards their Year 12 formal and will be drawn Monday Week 10 (30th March) during our morning parade.
Year 11 students will soon receive their camp letters for this year’s leadership camp. This is always a highlight and a fantastic opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zone and develop the skills they will need as our 2027 leaders. Keep an eye out for further information coming home shortly.
The Year 11 cohort will also be running fundraising events throughout semester one, ideas are currently being finalised, so stay tuned. If this group is anything like previous years, I suspect they will throw themselves into it wholeheartedly.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please don’t hesitate to make contact. It is shaping up to be a busy, exciting and very fast year for our seniors.
